Our goal is simple: We partner with our patients to restore their function and reach their healthcare goals in life and sport. The tool set we have at our clinic is very unique including chiropractic, physical therapy, acupuncture, functional medicine, nutrition, dry needling, and massage therapy.
Chiropractic and physical therapy work extremely well together in treating musculoskeletal conditions. The most common conditions include neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain, knee arthritis, plantar fasciitis, and tension type headaches. Musculoskeletal pain can be brought on through joint instability, joint fixation, muscle weakness, trigger points, and poor recruitment of muscles around the joint during movement. With chiropractic and physical therapy together, all these areas of dysfunction in the musculoskeletal system can be identified and corrected. Many patients utilize chiropractic and physical therapy at the same time, but the patient may use only one service at a time.
Acupuncture has been identified to help with many conditions from chronic pain in the body to infertility and migraine headaches. The World Health Organization recognizes over 200 conditions that acupuncture has been shown helpful. Acupuncture is used most commonly at Taylor Spine and Sports to help with chronic pain, trigger points, migraines, chronic fatigue, IBS, and fibromyalgia.
Functional medicine is a relatively new area of healthcare practiced by numerous types of healthcare practitioners. The goal in functional medicine is to treat the patient who has a condition and not treat the condition itself. The root cause of the individual’s symptoms are identified through a comprehensive health history, physical examination, and advanced functional diagnostic lab testing. Various types of therapies are utilized such as lifestyle counseling, nutritional counseling, herbals, vitamins, and minerals for the treatment plan. Once the root cause(s) of the individual’s symptoms is identified, a treatment plan can be constructed to return the patient to full health. Functional medicine is most effective in decreasing the symptoms of chronic fatigue, hypothyroidism, weight loss, fibromyalgia, infertility, and autoimmune diseases such as hashimotos thyroiditis, crohns, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogren’s, and psoriasis.
Massage therapy focuses on the soft tissues of the body. Massage therapy is effective at decreasing soft tissue adhesions and trigger points to decrease pain. It also helps reduce stress levels a person may be experiencing. Those suffering from tension type headaches, fibromyalgia, and chronic pain all benefit from massage therapy.
